The Case Management Associate (CMA) reports to the Broward Programs Supervisor and assists in the intake and orientation of new residents to the program. The CMA will screen clients referred for intake, perform intakes, conduct aftercare, facilitate motivational groups, perform outreach, as well as monitor the Intake/Screening Unit and Support Services. Duties also include crisis intervention and support as needed in the intake area: may facilitate organized and smooth running process of all medical clearances for timely entrance into program.

Minimum Requirements:A High School diploma or GED is required. Some college level coursework in social work or demonstrated knowledge of addiction and relapse prevention is preferred. Requires good communication, computer, and organizational skills. Must be able to multi-task and make sound decisions in a fair and compassionate manner. Must have good interpersonal skills to effectively interact with a diverse population and all levels of residents, employees, volunteers, and guests. Must be able to understand, speak, read and write English and carry out oral and written instructions. Must be able to pass a Level II background screen and drug test.

Compensation: $12.00 - $18.00 per hour based on experience. Position is non-exempt.

The Case Manager (CM) reports to the Broward Programs Supervisor and will provide case management services, crisis intervention, support, and referral services to clients. Incumbent will provide timely outcome reports per program guidelines and requirements. Monitors progress of residents, and refers them to appropriate agencies for assistance as needed. Schedule may include some nights and weekends as business needs dictate.

Minimum Requirements:Requires a high school diploma or GED, and demonstrated experience of at least 1 year with the homeless population. A Bachelor’s degree and/or CAP training and 1-2 years of experience in social work is preferred. Must have the ability to recognize symptoms of common mental, physical, co-occurring, alcohol/substance abuse addictions to make proper assessment for care plans, referrals, and linkage with excellent follow-up skills. Must be knowledgeable of community programs and resources that are available to clients. Must be able to pass a Level II background screen and drug test.

Compensation: $12.00 - $18.00 per hour based on experience. Position is non-exempt.

The Cook reports to the Food Services Supervisor and will be responsible for preparing bulk meals for our residents. Must be knowledgeable in food preparation (large quantities), storage, handling, and serving techniques in an institutional type setting. Good communication and interpersonal skills required. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule as business needs dictate.

Minimum Requirements:Must have a High School diploma or GED and knowledge of basic mathematical calculations to calculate measurements for recipes. Prefer a person with a valid driver’s license with 4 points maximum, but not necessary. Must be able to pass a Level II background screen and drug test.

Compensation: $11.00 - $17.00 per hour based on experience. Position is non-exempt.

The Community Development Assistant (CDA) reports to the Sr. Community Development Associate (SCDA). The CDA will help with all administrative duties such as updating spreadsheets, entering data into database, sending out Thank-You notes, and keeping up with all paperwork. The CDA will help greet, answer, and make phone calls to donors and schedules all appointments for the CDA. The CDA will also be responsible for updating the calendars for the SCDA.

Minimum Requirements: Requires a High School diploma or GED. Must have a minimum of 2 years of office experience with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience in a non-profit organization or general office setting is preferred. Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with staff, vendors, and supporters in a professional and courteous manner. The CDA must be extremely organized and able to prioritize tasks. Must be able to pass a Level II background screen and drug test.

Compensation: $12.00 - $18.00 per hour based on experience. Position is non-exempt.

The Driver II reports to the Food Services Supervisor and will provide donation pick-up, inter-campus material transportation, waste removal transportation, and storeroom organization. Transportation will involve operation of various vehicle types. The Driver will pick up and record donations, track inventory in and out of the department, and prepare related reports.

Minimum Requirements: Requires a High School Diploma or GED, a valid State of Florida CDL driver’s license (4 pt. max) with good driving record and approval of the Mission’s insurance company to drive company vehicle. A State of Florida Food Handler’s Certificate and 1 year office or warehouse work are preferred but not required. Must be able to pass a Level II background screen and drug test.

Compensation: $12.00 - $18.00 per hour based on experience. Position is non-exempt.

The Donor Services Clerk (DSC) reports to the Gifts & Marketing Senior Manager. The DSC is responsible for helping with out-going mail and helping with computer data entry. The DSC needs to be a team player who is willing to help in a variety of ways. Duties include: helping to prepare and organize out-going Thank You Receipts mail; inputting needed information into database; filing or routing documents after entry per office procedures; responding to inquiries regarding entered data; assisting with the update of accounts in the database; assisting with the printing of contribution receipts; keeping track of received data and source documents; and, maintaining the confidentiality of donors.

Minimum Requirements: Requires a High School Diploma or GED. Must be able to use a computer and quickly learn the steps shown. Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with staff, vendors, and supporters in a professional and courteous manner. The ideal candidate will be organized and able to prioritize tasks. A high level of accuracy and confidentiality is required. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) a plus. Must be able to pass a Level II background screen and drug test.

Compensation: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour based on experience. Position is non-exempt.

The Guest Services Assistant (GSA) reports to the Guest Services Supervisor, and monitors/oversees residential clients at the Center. Duties include assisting with new resident orientation; providing general oversight of residents in the absence of management; ensuring that residents perform assigned chores; handling emergencies according to policies and procedures; providing operational support for events such as graduations and luncheons; and, coordinating transportation and/or laundry services for residents.

Minimum Requirements: High school graduate (or GED) with a valid driver’s license required. Must have one (1) year work experience in social services or security-related work. Available shifts: 7:00am to 3:30pm and 3:00pm to 11:30pm including weekends and holidays as needed. Must be able to pass a Level II background screen and drug test.

Compensation: $11.00 - $17.00 per hour based on experience. Position is Non-exempt.

The Food Service Driver (FSD) at the Center for Men will provide drop-off and pick up services in the Food Service Department. The FSD will be responsible for picking up donated items from various locations, and transporting them to the Food Service warehouse or the Center for Men kitchen.

Minimum Requirements: Requires at least a 10th grade education, with a valid State of Florida driver’s license (4 points maximum). Must have a safe driving record, and be familiar with the Miami-Dade county area. Must be able to communicate in English. Must be able to lift heavy objects, as donations may be heavy. Must be able to pass a Level II background screen and drug test.

Compensation: $11.00 - $17.00 per hour based on experience. Position is non-exempt.

The Truck Driver drives an assigned vehicle to pick up and deliver donations and/or purchased items such as furniture, clothes, etc. in Dade and Broward Counties. Must be able to lift and/or carry a minimum of 75 pounds. Maintains and keeps required supplies and safety equipment in truck. Conducts routine safety inspection of vehicles, and promptly reports all mechanical problems.

Minimum Requirements: Must have at least 1 year of verifiable driving experience, and a Florida Driver’s Class D License. Must have a safe driving record with no more than four (4) points max. Must be familiar with local streets and highways in Dade and Broward Counties. Must be able to pass a Level II background screen and drug test.

Compensation: $11.00 - $17.00 per hour based on experience. Position is non-exempt.

Compensation: $11.00 - $17.00 per hour based on experience. Position is non-exempt.

The Intake Coordinator (IC) reports to the Emergency Services Supervisor, and oversees the intake and orientation of new residents to the program. Duties include screening clients for intake; performing intake assessment; conducting and building positive relations within the community; providing intake of homeless clients based on space availability; conducting aftercare; facilitating a motivational and welcoming environment; ensuring that the Intake/Screening Unit and Support Services meet contract requirements. Must be able to sign the Mission’s Statement of Faith, as this is a Christian discipleship ministry.

Minimum Requirements: Must have an AA degree or previous on-the-job training in Social Work or a related field. CAP training is a plus. The Intake Coordinator must have knowledge of alcoholism and chemical dependency and homelessness. Requires the ability to react quickly and calmly in an emergency and recognize symptoms of common mental and physical illnesses and make appropriate referrals for their treatment. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and staff of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds regardless of race, religion, age, sex, disability, political affiliation, and sexual orientation. Must be organized and computer literate. Requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to pass a Level II background screen and drug test.

Compensation: $14.00 - $19.00 per hour based on experience. Position is non-exempt.
