Be the Change for Women and Children

Covered Girlfriends is a community of women committed to making a lasting impact in the lives of single women and mothers with children by contributing their time, talents, and treasures. We focus on providing support, stability, and transitional housing to those who have experienced abuse, domestic violence, and homelessness.

Covered Girlfriends three core principles:

Fundraising for Housing:

We are committed to raising funds to support the acquisition, renovation, and ongoing maintenance of safe, stable, and affordable housing for women and children escaping domestic violence, abuse, and homelessness. Through these efforts, we aim to provide not just shelter, but a place of healing and restoration where women and their families can rebuild their lives with dignity, security, and hope for the future.

Supporting Program Graduates:

We provides ongoing support to residents and graduates of The Caring Place’s life-changing programs at our Miami and Broward Centers. This includes consistent encouragement, building meaningful relationships, and offering practical assistance, such as housewarming gifts, to help women establish stability and independence as they transition into new chapters of their lives.

Community Compassion:

Covered Girlfriends also extends its care to women in need throughout the broader community. Through compassion visits and continued connection, we walk alongside women beyond their time at the Center, offering support, encouragement, and hope as they navigate their journey forward.

Supporting Safe Homes:

Over the years we have successfully raised funds to purchase a 3-plex and a 4-plex housing project and is currently working towards acquiring a third property. Additionally, Girlfriends host fundraisers and housewarming parties to collect new household items for graduates as they move into their new, safe, and affordable homes.
